Every year the Earith bridge road gets a few inches of water across it and the road is closed.
The closure of the road causes traffic chaos in St Ives,
The closure is easily preventable by raising 100yds of the bridge road.
There are no water management concerns as has been suggested
The river is on both sides of the road and rises equally flooding the fields on either side of the road,
before the water comes across the short length of the road in the middle.
A small budget in comparison to a 1.5 million predicted cost for local cycle path, could fix this annual chaos.
I would say this is essential rather than a luxury.
